SOLTERAS, Que la vida es solo casarse?, es un proyecto de L'.ETNO, Museu Valencia d'Etnologia de la Diputación de Valencia, expuesto en sala durante el 2024-2025.
Los resultados de la investigación han sido expuestos desde tres lenguajes de difusión diferentes: Iibro, exposición y webdoc que se presentan en la IX edición de mujerDOC.
«Fadrines. Que la vida es solo casarse?» es un documental interactivo, un webdoc;. Un lenguaje de difusión compuesto de filmaciones, fotografías animadas, ilustraciones y voces de mujeres solteras: las protagonistas.
Egoístas, desnaturalizadas, fracasadas, solitarias, estériles, deficientes, que se les ha pasado el arroz o que se han quedado para vestir santos... podríamos seguir enumerando estereotipos que el imaginario colectivo ha derramado sobre las mujeres que no se han casado; es decir, sobre las mujeres solteras.
Desde esta nube de rechazo, comenzamos hace un tiempo un proyecto de investigación que pretendía explorar las biografías de esas mujeres situadas al margen, situadas fuera de la convención, fuera de los patrones sociales. Y nos preguntábamos como fueron sus vidas, teniendo en cuenta el entorno social que las miraba de reojo, que las despreciaba.
"SINGLE WOMEN: Is Life Just About Getting Married?" is a project by L'ETNO, the Valencia Museum of Ethnology of the Provincial Council of Valencia, on display during 2024-2025.
The research findings have been presented through three different formats: a book, an exhibition, and a web documentary, all of which were featured at the 9th edition of mujerDOC.
"Fadrines: Is Life Just About Getting Married?" is an interactive documentary, a web documentary; a format composed of film footage, animated photographs, illustrations, and the voices of single women: the protagonists.
Selfish, unnatural, failures, lonely, infertile, deficient, past their prime, or destined to remain unmarried... we could continue listing the stereotypes that the collective imagination has projected onto women who haven't married; that is, onto single women.
From this cloud of rejection, we began some time ago a research project that aimed to explore the biographies of these women on the margins, outside of convention, outside of social norms. And we wondered what their lives were like, considering the social environment that looked at them askance, that despised them.
