Soria vuelve a ser punto de encuentro internacional del cine documental feminista / Soria once again becomes an international meeting point for feminist documentary film
SÁBADO 14 DE MARZO. Hoy se clausura con gran éxito de público la IX edición de mujerDOC – Festival Internacional de Cine Documental Feminista, tras dos intensas semanas de proyecciones, encuentros y actividades culturales en la ciudad. El festival ha cerrado esta noche con la entrega de premios en el Palacio de la Audiencia, la actuación de La Bien Querida y una sesión final que pone el broche a una edición marcada por la calidad de las obras y la presencia de directoras de distintos países.
Entre los galardones destacan:
- Mejor largometraje: COMPARSA, de Vickie Curtis y Doug Anderson
- Mejor cortometraje: LION’S WRINKLE AND CROW’S FEET, de Juliette Léonard
- Premio Mejor Mujer (ex aequo): SISTERS, de Julia Zahar, y LES DAMES BLANCHES, de Camille Ghekiere
- Premio especial Mejor directora CIMA: ORAIN ZER, de Ainhoa Urgoitia Santamaría
Además, el jurado ha concedido varias menciones especiales reconociendo el talento y la diversidad de miradas del cine documental contemporáneo.
–Las películas de la sección oficial podrán verse próximamente en FILMIN durante dos semanas.
Gracias a todas las personas que han hecho posible una nueva edición que consolida a Soria como referencia cultural y cinematográfica.
SORIA. SATURDAY, MARCH 14. Today, the 9th edition of mujerDOC – International Feminist Documentary Film Festival – closes with great success, after two intense weeks of screenings, talks, and cultural activities in the city. The festival concluded tonight with the awards ceremony at the Palacio de la Audiencia, a performance by La Bien Querida, and a final session that brought to a close an edition marked by the quality of the films and the presence of directors from various countries.
Among the awards are:
- Best Feature Film: COMPARSA, by Vickie Curtis and Doug Anderson
- Best Short Film: LION’S WRINKLE AND CROW’S FEET, by Juliette Léonard
- Best Woman Award (joint): SISTERS, by Julia Zahar, and LES DAMES BLANCHES, by Camille Ghekiere
- CIMA Special Award for Best Director: ORAIN ZER, by Ainhoa Urgoitia Santamaría
In addition, the jury awarded several special mentions recognizing the talent and diverse perspectives of contemporary documentary cinema.
–The films in the official selection will be available to watch on FILMIN for two weeks.

La ciudad de Soria ha sido escenario de las ocho primeras convocatorias de mujerDOC organizadas por la ONG Mujeres del Mundo. Desde 2022 el festival se desarrolla en Co-coordinación con el Ayuntamiento de Soria. Este apoyo, a través de las Concejalías de Igualdad y Cultura, ha sido decisivo para garantizar la continuidad del proyecto. 2.500 películas se han presentado a las diferentes ediciones de mujerDOC. Documentales procedentes de realizadores/as y productoras de circuitos no comerciales de todo el mundo de las que se han programado cerca de 300 títulos. El Festival en esta IX edición pretende seguir siendo un espacio de referencia internacional de cine documental con las reivindicaciones de la agenda feminista para contribuir a crear sociedades más justas e igualitarias.
Queremos agradecer a las más de 400 películas procedentes de todos los continentes que han presentado sus trabajos a esta convocatoria. A las personas que trabajan día a día para hacer posible que sigamos adelante y a las que nos han acompañado y apoyado desde el inicio.
The city of Soria has hosted the first eight editions of mujerDOC, organized by the NGO Mujeres del Mundo (Women of the World). Since 2022, the festival has been held in co-coordination with the Soria City Council. This support, through the Departments of Equality and Culture, has been crucial in ensuring the project’s continuity. 2,500 films have been submitted to the various editions of mujerDOC. These documentaries, from filmmakers and production companies working in non-commercial circuits around the world, have resulted in the selection of approximately 300 titles. In this ninth edition, the Festival aims to continue being an international benchmark for documentary film, championing the demands of the feminist agenda to contribute to creating more just and egalitarian societies.
We would like to thank the more than 400 films from every continent that submitted their work to this call for entries. We also thank the people who work tirelessly to make it possible for us to continue, and those who have accompanied and supported us from the beginning.
